When I graduated from Cranwell in 1989, Mum was the most sceptical of parents and it proved to be a long day. A presentation to families was made in Whittle Hall, that we called the ‘sleeping bag’ as we always fought sleep in lectures there. Mum promptly fell asleep and was snoring so loudly that she had to be woken up as about 120 sets of parents/families looked back. It’s funny looking back as she immediately resorted to telling me not to make a fuss.
